Koru Painting

For the past couple of weeks Punui-o-toka has been making art. I have chose to make a Koru drawing. We made them for our calendar art!

Stormy Night

This term we have been learning about weather! In art I created a stormy night painting. First I painted the background, we had to do dark colours to light colours! The colours we had to use were dark blue darker than the black, light blue, and blackish grey. Then I had to make the silhouette! We had to use a white crayon to draw the silhouette on black paper. then we cut it out. Then the next day after all the paint dried, I painted the storm could! I used black paint, we had to paint it in a dabbing motion. After that I had to paint the lightning with white paint. We had tiny thin brushes to paint them. After all of that I stuck the silhouette to the panting with pva glue.

My Weather Art

Walt: Use crayon and dye to show movement and ripples in a weather feature!

On Monday I made a piece of art with white crayon and dye! First I drew the rainbow, Then I drew the rain with white crayon, it was hard because I couldn't see where I was putting the white crayon because the paper was white too! After that I started to dye it with blue, black, and grey!

My Emperor Penguin

Walt: Make the paint look like feathers!

First I drew the penguin, I needed to sketch it out so when I make a mistake I can rub it out! Then I painted the black in, when it dried I panted the orange and yellow, after that I but in a little bit of white and put green in its eyes!
