Spencer Park

Friday 10 March the South Hornby School Seniors went to Spencer Park! One of the reasons we went was to find out what the teachers liked and didn’t like, I learnt that Mrs McGuinniety didn’t like the little bugs that are in the sand.

The first thing we did when we arrived was to eat morning tea. I sat with my Mum, Julia, Mediana, Lily K, and Loreen.

After that we went to play on the playground! The first thing I went on was a spider web, climbing tower. There were two, I went and climbed on the one I thought was bigger and taller! After the tower I went onto the

swing, I swung so high that I almost flipped over!

Later in the morning we walked to the beach, it took about 3 to 4 minutes! When we arrived we took our socks and shoes off. Then we sat down on the warm sand. Mr Breach and the rest of the teachers told us to build a humongous tower! We needed to get into a small group. My group was, Zane, Piper, and Lily K. My Mum helped my group, by tying two sticks together! After we made the tower tall, my group decorated it with shells and seaweed. Then we had to sit down while the judges judged our creations. Sadly….. We didn’t win ‘best creation’, but I think my group could of come a close second or third!

After building the towers I collected some beautiful shells while the rest put their shoes on. After collecting some shells I put my socks and shoes on and walk back to the picnic area with the rest of the group! As we walked back to the parks I realized that it seemed longer than the first time we walked!

When we were at the park we ate our lunch! I was sitting with the same people that I sat with at morning tea, I sat with my Mum, Julia, Mediana, Lily K, and Loreen again!

After lunch we played more in the playground, I went onto the swings again! I went high once again with my Mum!

After the playground we had to go home, instead of going in the bus I went home in my Mums car!

That Was Summer Poem

That Was Summer!

I remember smelling smelly sweat EVERYWHERE.

I remember tasting FREEZING Ice Blocks and ICE COLD Ice Cream that my Mum prepared.

I remember seeing a lot of flip flops for footwear.

That was summer.

I remember feeling the HOT sun BOILING ME while I was gardening.

I remember hearing my dog barking at the buzzy bees.

That was summer.

Prefix "NOT"

This week in Phonics we have been learning about prefixes. A prefix is a group of letters at the beginning or end of a word! When you add a prefix it changes the word's meaning. We worked on all the "NOT" prefixes!
